2007 Pheasants Forever Youth Shoot
August 19, 2007

Each year the local chapter of Pheasants Forever sponsors a free sporting clay fun shoot at Viking Valley for area young people between the ages of 13 and 16. Participants then have the opportunity to return to participate in a free guided 3-bird pheasant hunt at Viking Valley in October. Ranae Edwards, Grant County 4-H Program Coordinator, organized the shooting event on Sunday, August 19. With help from shooting instructors Don Maslow and Mick McMillin, 19 young people had a chance to practice their shooting skills and learn. They also learned about pheasant hunting and what to expect for the October hunt.
